how is odor an issue for you?
Backpacking is my first love, er, after my wife of course. My wife, however, HATES how I smell when I come home from a trip: FUNKY.
do you have any funny odor stories from your past?
Hiking the AT a nice couple stopped to give me a ride to town. When I got in their car and they got a whiff of me they were very apologetic, but kindly asked me to get back out of their car. They sent their son back with a pickup truck to get me.
how did you test the shirt?
Lots of folks drive to the top of Mt. Mitchell (highest peak east of the Mississippi). Others (like me and your shirt) walk up from the bottom. I hiked the Black Mountain Crest Trail 27 miles round-trip.
how did the shirt perform?
Over the course of 3 days the shirt started out by absorbing the smell of my deodorant (both sides), which surprised me. By halfway through the first day it was easy to tell which half had been treated by the smell. At the end of the 3 days the difference was pretty pronounced, with one side smelling like deodorant mixed with dirt and the other STINKING of body odor.
