how is odor an issue for you?

I love to be outdoors. Whether I am hiking, cycling, paddling, climbing, skiing, or the like I enjoy my time in the backcountry. Unfortunately once I return to the civilized world I don't always smell my best. The worst is when I come back from a long weekend and stop to eat or shop on my way home. I worry about the people who come in contact with me. I can't always smell myself, but I know I stink and therefore intentionally avoid passersby. Once I get home and begin to unpack the cloths I have been wearing I realize how the smell has permeated my pack. Everything, including the gear that was never used, absorbs the smell from by body odor. It would be nice to not have to worry about my smell in public, or feel the need to wash right away.

do you have any funny odor stories from your past?

I enjoy riding my bike to the office whenever I can. When I started riding to work I was very subconscious of my odor. There is no place to shower at the office and I cannot always sense my own odor. At that time I had a intern who was working under me. I asked him to please tell me when I stink to see if I needed to find another solution. We spent weeks with him smelling me each day trying to determine whether or not I had an odor.

how did you test the shirt?

I wore the Agion Active test shirt as a base layer during a day hike at Enchanted Rock State Natural Area near Fredericksburg Texas. I climbed to the three highest points in the park, summiting the highest point twice. Up and down four different times with a sum total elevation gain of approximately 1500 feet. By the end of the day I was worn out and had sweated quite a bit. I stunk, but I couldn't really tell. With the wind blowing and being out of breath, I began to doubt I stunk at all. It wasn't until the day was over and I had removed my jacket that I began to really smell my left side. My right side barely stunk at all. My only wish is that I had more than just half a shirt.

how did the shirt perform?

I wore the shirt all day long while hiking for many hours. Throughout the day I couldn't tell if the shirt was working or not. As I said before, It wasn't until the day was over and I had removed my jacket that I began to really smell my left side. My right side barely stunk at all.

What other products would you like to see Agion Active in?

As far as products I would like to see with odor control, base layers are a given. Other than that, jackets, fleece, shoes and boots, pants, shorts, just about anything that comes in contact with my body. If I had to pick one, light jackets are what I notice odor in most often.
